Seest thou one who turns back, 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Did not the news reach him, of that which is mentioned in the Books of Moosa? 36 And [of] Abraham, who fulfilled [his obligations] - 37 That no bearer of burden shall bear the burden of another- 38 And that man can have nothing but what he does (good or bad). 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that He it is Who makes (men) laugh and makes (them) weep; 43 And that He it is Who causes death and gives life- 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And the Thamud nor gave them a lease of perpetual life. 51 And before them, the people of Noah, for that they were (all) most unjust and most insolent transgressors, 52 And He brought perdition upon the subverted cities 53 So that (ruins unknown) have covered them up. 54 Concerning which then, of the bounties of thy Lord, canst thou dispute? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The Day of Resurrection draws near, 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 and do they laugh instead of weeping, 60 While you are indulging in varieties. 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
