Have you considered he who turns his back, 33 and grudgingly spends very little for the cause of God? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Has he not been made acquainted with what was written in the scriptures of Moses? 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no burdened soul bears another soul’s burden? 38 and that nought shall be accounted unto man but what he is striving for; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 then, he shall be recompensed for it in full repayment 41 And that to your Lord is your returning; 42 And that it is He who makes [one] laugh and weep 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 from a drop of sperm when it was emitted, 46 And that upon Him is another bringing forth. 47 That it is He who makes you rich and contented; 48 That He is the Lord of Sirius (the Mighty Star); 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And He overthrew the Cities of the Plain, 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 About which, then, of thy Sustainer's powers canst thou [still] remain in doubt? 55 This [Prophet] is a warner like the former warners. 56 The Imminent is imminent; 57 There shall be none besides Allah to remove it. 58 Does this statement seem strange to them 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 So prostrate to Allah and worship [Him]. ۩ 62
