(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Does he possess the knowledge of the Unseen, and therefore he sees? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 And of Ibrahim, who was most obedient? 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 nor can man achieve anything without hard labor. 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 That it is He Who granteth Laughter and Tears; 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that He hath ordained the second bringing forth; 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 And that He (Allah) is the Lord of Sirius (the star which the pagan Arabs used to worship); 49 And that it is He Who destroyed the (powerful) ancient 'Ad (people), 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace [of them,] 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 It is He who turned upside down the people of Lot 53 and covered them with torment. 54 Then which of the favors of your Lord do you doubt? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 Of it, [from those] besides Allah, there is no remover. 58 Do you marvel then at this discourse (the Koran)? 59 And do you laugh instead of weeping, 60 Will you occupy yourselves simply in merriment? 61 So fall you down in prostration to Allah, and worship Him (Alone). ۩ 62
