(O Prophet), did you see him who turned away (from the Path of Allah), 33 who gave a little, and then stopped? 34 Has he knowledge of the unseen, so that he sees? 35 Nay, is he not acquainted with what is in the Books of Moses- 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that everyone shall have in his account only that which he worked for, 39 and that [the fruit of] his striving shall soon be seen; 40 And afterward he will be repaid for it with fullest payment; 41 And that to your Lord (Allah) is the End (Return of everything). 42 and that it is He who makes to laugh, and that makes to weep, 43 And that it is He (Allah) Who causes death and gives life; 44 That He created pairs, male and female, 45 of a sperm-drop, when it was cast forth, 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 And that it is He Who enricheth and preserveth property. 48 that He is the Lord of Sirius, 49 that He it is Who destroyed the ancient 'Ad, 50 and Thamud, leaving no trace of them, 51 And the people of Nuh (Noah) aforetime, verily, they were more unjust and more rebellious and transgressing [in disobeying Allah and His Messenger Nuh (Noah)]. 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 Which then of thy Lord's benefits wilt thou doubt? 55 This is a Warner, of the (series of) Warners of old! 56 The (Judgment) ever approaching draws nigh: 57 There is no one to unveil it apart from God. 58 Do you then marvel at this discourse, 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Wasting your (precious) lifetime in pastime and amusements (singing, etc.). 61 Rather, prostrate to Allah and worship Him. ۩ 62
