Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 And he gave a little, then refrained? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or, has he not been informed of what is in the scriptures of Musa? 36 And of Ibrahim (Abraham) who fulfilled (or conveyed) all that (what Allah ordered him to do or convey), 37 To wit, that a burthened soul shall not bear the burthen of another. 38 And that man hath only that for which he maketh effort, 39 And that his deeds will be seen, 40 Then he will be recompensed with a full and the best recompense. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 and that He it is Who causes people to laugh and to cry, 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and He it is Who created the two kinds, the male and the female, 45 from a discharged living germ 46 and that upon Him is the second creation 47 And that He it is Who enriches and gives to hold; 48 and that it is He alone who sustains the brightest star; 49 It is He who utterly destroyed the ancient tribes of Ad, 50 and Thamood, sparing no one, 51 and the people of Noah; they were the most unjust and rebellious people. 52 And Al-Mu'tafikah He destroyed 53 and covered them with torment. 54 How many favours of your Lord will you then deny? 55 This is a warning among the warnings of yore. 56 The Hour that was to come draws ever nearer. 57 None except Allah can avert it. 58 Marvel ye then at this statement, 59 and do you laugh, and do you not weep, 60 and divert yourselves all the while? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62
