Al-Najm 3 of 3
Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 who at first gave a little, then later held back? 34 What! Has he knowledge of the Unseen so that he can see? 35 Or hath he not had news of what is in the books of Moses 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his engagements?- 37 Namely, that no bearer of burdens can bear the burden of another; 38 And that there is not for man except that [good] for which he strives 39 and that his work is surely seen 40 and will be fully recompensed for his deeds. 41 To your Lord will all things eventually return. 42 And that He it is who maketh laugh, and maketh weep, 43 that it is He who causes death and gives life; 44 and that He Himself created the two kinds, male and female, 45 From the small seed when it is adapted 46 and that upon Him rests the second growth, 47 And that it is He (Allah) Who gives much or a little (or gives wealth and contentment), 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that He destroyed Ad, the ancient, 50 And Samood, so He spared not 51 Like the people of Noah before them, who were surely oppressors and rebellious; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 and then covered them from sight forever. 54 Which of your Lord's benefits will you then dispute about? 55 This is a warner, of the warners of old. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Then at this statement do you wonder? 59 And will you laugh and not weep? 60 Indulging in pleasantries? 61 [Nay,] but prostrate yourselves before God, and worship [Him alone]! ۩ 62

Reading the Quran translated into English, or any other language, is more like reading books of interpretation than reading literal translations.

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
