Have you seen him who turns his back, 33 And gave a little and [then] refrained? 34 Does he have knowledge of the hidden, so he can foresee? 35 Has not he been informed of the contents of the Book of Moses 36 and of Abraham, who to his trust was true: 37 that no soul shall bear the burden of another; 38 and that man shall have nothing but what he has striven for, 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 Then shall he be rewarded for it with the fullest reward- 41 and that the final return is to your Lord, 42 that it is He who causes to laugh and causes to weep. 43 And He who ordains death and life; 44 And that He (Allah) creates the pairs, male and female, 45 From a drop of semen when emitted; 46 And that upon Him (Allah) is another bringing forth (Resurrection); 47 And that it is He who enriches and suffices 48 It is He who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 And that He destroyed the former 'A-ad. 50 And destroyed the tribe of Thamud, not sparing anyone? 51 and that He it is Who destroyed the people of Noah before for they were much given to iniquity and transgression. 52 and He overthrew the subverted cities [of Sodom and Gomorrah] 53 so that there came upon them that which came. 54 On which then of your Lord's signs do you cast doubt? 55 This is a warner of the warners of old. 56 What is to come is imminent. 57 No (soul) but Allah can lay it bare. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 Why do you laugh rather than weep? 60 indulging in carelessly idle games? 61 Bow instead in adoration before God and worship Him. ۩ 62
