Samood rejected the warning. 23 And said: "Should we follow only one man among us? In that case we shall be in error and insane." 24 Has the reminder been made to light upon him from among us? Nay! he is an insolent liar! 25 They shall know tomorrow whichsoever is a liar insolent. 26 We shall send the she-camel as a trial for them; so watch their end with patience. 27 Tell them that the water is to be divided between them, a drink each for them in turn' 28 In response they called their companion – he therefore caught and hamstrung the she-camel. 29 How then were My punishment and My warnings! 30 Verily We, We sent upon them one shout, and they became as the stubble of a fold-builder. 31 And indeed, We have made the Quran easy to understand and remember, then is there any that will remember (or receive admonition)? 32 The people of Lout (Lot) belied the warnings. 33 We let loose on all of them a squall of claystones, except for the house of Lot whom We saved at dawn 34 As a reward from Us; this is how We reward one who gives thanks. 35 Lot warned them of Our punishment, but they disputed the warnings -- 36 And they tried to persuade him regarding his guests – We therefore blinded their eyes, “So taste My punishment, and My warnings.” 37 One early morning Our torment brought upon them utter destruction. 38 We said, "Suffer Our torment of which you were warned". 39 We have made the Koran an easy Remembrance, is there any that will remember! 40

(1) وقف لازم، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي نقطة وقف. (2) وقف جائز مع الوقف أولى، حيث يستخدم الرسم الإنجليزي فاصلة قد تظهر باحتمال الثلثين. When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
