Al-Qamar 2 of 3
(The tribe of) Thamud rejected warnings 23 For they said: "A man! Alone from among us, that we are to follow? Truly, then we should be in error and distress or madness!" 24 Hath the remembrance been given unto him alone among us? Nay, but he is a rash liar. 25 It was said to Saleh, “They will soon realise tomorrow who is the mischievous great liar.” 26 Indeed, We are sending the she-camel as trial for them, so watch them and be patient. 27 Tell them that the water is to be apportioned between them (and her); and every turn of drinking will be fixed (for each)." 28 Then they called their comrade, and he took in hand, and hamstrung her. 29 How then were My chastisement and My warnings? 30 Surely We sent upon them a single cry, so they were like the dry fragments of trees which the maker of an enclosure collects. 31 Now We have made the Koran easy for Remembrance. Is there any that will remember? 32 The people of Lot rejected Our warning. 33 Indeed We sent a shower of stones upon them, except the family of Lut; We rescued them before dawn. 34 A favor from Us; thus do We reward him who gives thanks. 35 Surely Lot warned his people that We shall seize them (with Our chastisement), but they doubted the warnings. 36 And they even sought to snatch away his guests from him, but We blinded their eyes. (They heard:) "Now taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 37 and early in the morning the punishment decreed overtook them -- 38 "So taste ye My Wrath and My Warning." 39 We have made the Quran easy to understand, but is there anyone who would pay attention? 40

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
