The warnings came also to Pharaoh's folk. 41 The (people) rejected all Our Signs; but We seized them with such Penalty (as comes) from One Exalted in Power, able to carry out His Will. 42 Are your unbelievers (of Makkah) any better than they? Or have you been granted any immunity in the Scriptures? 43 Or do they say, "We are a united group, and we are bound to prevail?" 44 [Their] assembly will be defeated, and they will turn their backs [in retreat]. 45 In fact, the Hour of Doom is the time for them to suffer. The suffering of this hour is the most calamitous and the most bitter (of all suffering). 46 The sinful ones will face the destructive torment of hell 47 on the Day when they are dragged into the fire on their faces, it will be said to them, "Now feel the touch of Hell!" 48 We have created everything in a determined measure. 49 And Our commandment is but one (commandment), as the twinkling of an eye. 50 And verily We have destroyed your fellows; but is there any that remembereth? 51 And all what they did is in the Books. 52 And everything small and great is written down. 53 Surely those who fear God and follow the straight path will be amidst gardens and light, 54 Seated in an assembly of the Truth, in the presence of Allah, the Omnipotent King. 55
