The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Compassionate. 1 Hath made known the Qur'an. 2 He has created man: 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning, 5 and the stars and the trees bow themselves; 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 Therefore, maintain just measure and do not transgress against the Balance. 9 It is He Who has spread out the earth for (His) creatures: 10 In which are fruits, and covered dates. 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 13 He created man of a clay like the potter's, 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 21 Out of them come Pearls and Coral: 22 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
