The News (Al-Naba')
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ Of what do they ask one another? 1 Is it about the awesome tiding 2 About which they cannot agree. 3 (What they think is certainly despicable!). They will soon come to know (the reality). 4 Then, no! They are going to know. 5 Have We not made the earth as a wide expanse, 6 and the mountains as pegs? 7 And it is We who created you in pairs. 8 and We appointed your sleep for a rest; 9 and made the night a covering, 10 And have appointed the day for livelihood. 11 We have built above you seven mighty heavens, 12 And have made (therein) a shinning lamp (sun). 13 and have sent down out of the rainclouds water cascading 14 to make the seeds, plants, 15 and gardens luxuriant. 16 Surely the Day of Judgement has an appointed time; 17 The day when the Trumpet will be blown – you will therefore come forth in multitudes. 18 And the heaven will be opened – it therefore becomes like gates. 19 The mountains put in motion turning into a mirage. 20 Lo! hell lurketh in ambush, 21 For the transgressors a place of destination: 22 where they shall remain for ages, 23 They will neither taste anything cool in it, nor anything to drink. 24 Except hot boiling water and hot pus discharged from the people of hell. 25 for a suitable recompense. 26 They did not expect such a Judgment 27 And rejected Our signs as lies. 28 but We have placed on record every single thing [of what they did]. 29 So taste (the fruit of what you sowed), for We shall add nothing but torment, 30
