Hoarding (Al-Takaathur)

8 verses, revealed in Mecca after Bounty (Al-Kawthar) before Charity (Al-Maa'oon)

In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate

Competition in [worldly] increase diverts you 1 till you reached the grave. 2 Nay! You shall come to know! 3 Again, yes certainly, you will soon realise! 4 Nay! If you knew with a sure knowledge (the end result of piling up, you would not have occupied yourselves in worldly things) 5 you shall surely see Hell; 6 Then you will see it with the eye of certainty. 7 Then, on that Day, you will be called to account for all the bounties you enjoyed. 8
