The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
By the sky and the night comer - 1 How will you comprehend what the night star is? 2 It is the piercing star - 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 Now let man but think from what he is created! 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 that issues from between the loins and the ribs. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 The day all secrets are examined 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heaven with its recurring cycle of rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 It is surely a decisive utterance; 13 And is not a matter of amusement. 14 They are devising guile, 15 And I (too) will make a scheme. 16 Therefore respite the unbelievers, and delay them for a while. 17
True are the words of God the Almighty.
