The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sunlight is rolled up. 1 when the stars are thrown down, 2 And when the mountains are removed 3 when the ten-months pregnant camels shall be abandoned, 4 And when the wild beasts shall be gathered together; 5 And when the seas shall be filled, 6 when the souls are divided into different classes, 7 And when the girl [who was] buried alive is asked 8 for what sin she was killed, 9 when the scrolls shall be unrolled, 10 when heaven shall be stripped off; 11 and when Hell is set ablaze, 12 and Paradise brought nigh: 13 [then] each soul shall know what it has put forward. 14 But nay! I swear by the stars, 15 the planets that run their course and set, 16 And the close of night, 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 it is indeed the word of an Honorable Messenger, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 obeyed, moreover trusty. 21 (O people of Makkah), your companion is not mad; 22 He certainly saw him (Gabriel) high up on the horizon in his original form 23 He (Muhammad) is not accused of lying about the unseen. 24 nor is it a word of an accursed Satan. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This is naught else than a reminder unto creation, 27 Unto whomsoever of you willeth to walk straight. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
