The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
By those (angels) who pull out (the souls of the disbelievers and the wicked) with great violence; 1 and those that blow gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then outpace the others swiftly 4 and thus they fulfil the [Creator's] behest! 5 The day the convulsive (first blast) shatters convulsively 6 and the second blast follows it, 7 Hearts that Day will be in agitation; 8 and their eyes shall be downcast with dread. 9 They say: shall we indeed be restored to the first state, 10 after we have become bones and dust?" 11 They say, "That, then, would be a losing return." 12 But it will be only a single blow, 13 When, behold, they find themselves over the earth alive after their death, 14 Did the news of Moosa reach you? 15 Recall what time his Lord called unto him in the holy vale of Tuwa. 16 Saying: go thou unto Fir'awn; verily he hath waxen exorbitant. 17 And say to him, "Would you like to reform yourself? 18 And I will guide you to your Lord so that you should fear. 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he belied and disobeyed, 21 Then he turned his back, striving hard (against Allah). 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and proclaimed, and he said, 'I am your Lord, the Most High!' 24 So Allah seized him with the punishment of the Everlasting Life, and of this world. 25 Surely in that is a lesson for him who fears! 26
