The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the heaven is sundered. 1 And attentive to her Lord in fear, 2 When the earth is stretched out taut 3 and casts forth whatever is in it, and becomes utterly void, 4 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 5 Human being, you strive hard to get closer to your Lord, and so you will certainly receive the recompense (of your deeds). 6 Then as to him who shall be given his book in his right hand 7 Soon will his account be taken by an easy reckoning, 8 And he will turn to his people, rejoicing! 9 But whoso is given his account behind his back, 10 He will invoke (his) destruction, 11 And [enter to] burn in a Blaze. 12 He used to live joyfully among his people, 13 he surely thought he would never revert. 14 Why not? His Lord was always watching him. 15 I swear by the afterglow of sunset, 16 by the night and what it covers, 17 and the moon when it grows full, 18 You will surely go up level by level. 19 What then is the matter with them, that they believe not?- 20 And that, when the Qur'an is read unto them, they prostrate not them-selves! ۩ 21 But those who have disbelieved deny, 22 And Allah knoweth best what they are hiding. 23 Hence, give them the tiding of grievous suffering [in the life to come] 24 Except those who believed and did good deeds – for them is a reward that will never end. 25
