Observedest thou him who turned away? 33 and gives so little [of himself for the good of his soul,] and so grudgingly? 34 Hath he knowledge of the Unseen so that he seeth? 35 Has he not been informed of what is in the Scrolls of Moses, 36 And of Abraham who fulfilled his trust? -- 37 That no one who carries a burden bears another's load; 38 and that man shall have only that for which he strives; 39 That (the fruit of) his striving will soon come in sight: 40 Then he will be fully repaid for it? 41 And that to your Lord is the finality 42 And that it is He Who made (you) laugh and made (you) cry? 43 and that it is He who causes to die, and causes to live 44 And that He created pairs, the male and the female 45 From a drop of liquid, when it is added? 46 and on Him depends the life hereafter. 47 that it is He who gives wealth and possessions; 48 And that it is He Who is the Lord of Sirius. 49 and that it is He who destroyed the ancient [tribes of] Ad 50 And Thamud (people). He spared none of them. 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 and the Subverted City He also overthrew, 53 So there covered them that which covered. 54 About which of the bounties of your Lord can they persistently dispute? 55 This is a warning just like those of former times. 56 The approaching event has come near. 57 None besides Allah can avert it, (or advance it, or delay it). 58 At this discourse then marvel ye? 59 Or do you laugh, and do you not weep 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 Therefore prostrate for Allah, and worship Him.
