The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 there is no denying its coming 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth is shaken with a shock 4 And the mountains are broken down, crumbling 5 and become a dust, scattered, 6 [on that Day,] then, shall you be [divided into] three kinds. 7 So those on the Right Hand (i.e. those who will be given their Records in their right hands), Who will be those on the Right Hand? (As a respect for them, because they will enter Paradise). 8 And those on the left – how (wretched) are those on the left! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 in the beautiful Paradise. 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 and a lesser number from the later generations. 14 On thrones woven [with ornament], 15 facing one another. 16 (and there) shall wait on them immortal youths 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 Their heads shall not ache with it, nor shall they lose their senses. 19 And fruit that they prefer 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 a recompense for that they laboured. 24 No Laghw (dirty, false, evil vain talk) will they hear therein, nor any sinful speech (like backbiting, etc.). 25 All talk will be sound and upright. 26 The Companions of the Right 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and shade extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 Whose season is not limited, nor (supply) forbidden, 33 They shall be on upraised couches, 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
