The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful

WOE TO EVERY slanderer, back-biter, 1 Who collects wealth and [continuously] counts it. 2 thinking his riches have made him immortal! 3 Nay! he shall most certainly be hurled into the crushing disaster, 4 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the Consuming One is! 5 It is the Fire kindled by Allah, 6 Which penetrates the hearts 7 Verily it shall close upon them, 8 in extended columns. 9

True are the words of God the Almighty.
