The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ The Beneficent Allah, 1 Taught the Quran. 2 He created the human 3 and taught him its pronunciation. 4 The sun and the moon move according to a fixed reckoning; 5 The stars and the trees prostrate themselves. 6 and He has raised up the heaven and has set a balance 7 so that you would maintain justice. 8 And establish weight in justice and do not make deficient the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 And also corn, with (its) leaves and stalk for fodder, and sweet-scented plants. 12 So O men and jinns! Which favour of your Lord will you deny? 13 He has created man from dry, rotten clay like the potter's, 14 And created jinn from the flame of fire. 15 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 16 He is the Lord of the two easts and the Lord of the two wests. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 Whereas there is a barrier between them so they cannot encroach upon one another. 20 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 21 From them come forth the pearl and the coral. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the lofty ships, that rear aloft on the sea like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
