The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ The Merciful One 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created the human 3 and has taught him articulate speech. 4 The sun and the moon to a reckoning. 5 and the stars and the trees all prostrate themselves, 6 And the heaven! He hath elevated it, and He hath set the balance. 7 That ye exceed not the measure, 8 And observe the weight with equity and do not make the balance deficient. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and palm trees having sheaths [of dates] 11 Grain with husk, and fragrant grasses. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He has created man out of sounding clay, like pottery, 14 and He created the jinn of a smokeless fire. 15 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 16 [He is] the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunrise, and the Sustainer of the two farthest points of sunset. 17 Which of your Lord's wonders would you deny? 18 He let forth the two seas that meet together, 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 23 His are the high-sailed vessels in deep ocean like the mountains. 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
