The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Beneficent 1 Has taught the Qur’an to His beloved Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him). 2 He created the human being 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon are in a reckoning. 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 (Transgress not in the Balance, 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And the earth! He hath lain it out for the creatures. 10 Therein is fruit and date-palms, producing spathes (enclosing dates); 11 And the grain with (its) husk and fragrance. 12 Which favors of your Lord will you both (humans and jinn) belie? 13 He created the human being from clay like that used for pottery 14 And He created Jinns from fire free of smoke: 15 (Jinn and mankind) - which of the favors of your Lord do you deny? 16 Lord of both the Easts, and Lord of both the Wests! 17 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 18 He hath let loose the two seas. 19 With an interstice between them which they cannot cross. 20 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 Also, His are the ships that run, raised up like mountains upon the sea. 24 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 25
