The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
۞ THE MOST GRACIOUS 1 has imparted this Qur'an [unto man]. 2 He created man 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 The sun and the moon [move] by precise calculation, 5 And the grasses and the trees bow (to Him) in adoration. 6 And the heaven He raised and imposed the balance 7 That ye should not trespass in respect of the balance. 8 And keep up the balance with equity and do not make the measure deficient. 9 He set down the earth for the creation. 10 Therein are fruit and palm-trees sheathed. 11 And grain chaffed and other food. 12 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 13 He created man from dry clay like earthen vessels, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie 16 Lord of the two easts and of the two wests is He. 17 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 18 He has let loosed the two seas (the salt water and the sweet) meeting together. 19 There is a barrier between them. They encroach not (one upon the other). 20 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come forth from both of them. 22 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 23 His too are the ships that run, raised up in the sea like land-marks. 24 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? 25
