The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ AR-RAHMAN 1 Hath taught the Qur'an. 2 He created man 3 He taught distinctness. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the plants and the trees prostrate (for Him). 6 He raised the heavens and set up the measure, 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And establish the measures justly, nor decrease the due weight. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein are fruits, date-palms producing sheathed fruit-stalks (enclosing dates). 11 and grain growing tall on its stalks, and sweet-smelling plants. 12 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 13 He created man of fermented clay dried tinkling hard like earthen ware, 14 and He created the jinns from a flame of fire. 15 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 16 Lord of the Two Easts, Lord of the Two Wests, 17 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 18 He hath loosed the two seas. They meet. 19 between them a barrier they do not overpass. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 There come forth from them pearls, both large and small. 22 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 23 And His are the ships going and coming in the seas, like mountains. 24 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 25
