The All Compassionate (Al-Rahman)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ (Allah) Most Gracious! 1 has taught the Koran. 2 He created man 3 He taught him eloquent speech. 4 [At His behest] the sun and the moon run their appointed courses; 5 And the herbs and the trees do obeisance. 6 And Allah has raised the sky; and He has set the balance. 7 That you may not be inordinate in respect of the measure. 8 And observe correct measure, weigh with justice, and not cheat the balance. 9 And He has set up the earth for all beings. 10 Therein is fruit and palms having sheathed clusters, 11 And grain covered with husk, and fragrant flowers. 12 Which of the bounties of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 13 He created man from sounding clay like unto pottery, 14 And He created the jinn from a smokeless flame of fire. 15 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? 16 (He is) Lord of the two Easts and Lord of the two Wests: 17 Which of the powers of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 18 He has let free the two bodies of flowing water, meeting together: 19 but has created a barrier between them so that they will not merge totally. 20 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 21 Pearls and corals come from both. 22 Which favors of your Lord will you both belie? 23 And His are the Ships sailing smoothly through the seas, lofty as mountains: 24 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 25
