The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
96 verses, revealed in Mecca after T H (Taa Haa) before The Poets (Alshu'araa')
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ When the Terror descends 1 and there can be no denying its happening, 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 Turned to dust, floating in the air, 6 you shall be divided into three parties, 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 And the People on the Left: and how miserable will be the People on the Left! 9 And the foremost are the foremost, 10 Those are the ones brought near [to Allah] 11 In the Gardens of Pleasure, 12 A multitude from the ancients. 13 And a few of later ages, 14 (They will be) on thrones woven with gold and precious stones, 15 Reclining thereon facing each other. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 Cups and decanters, beakers full of sparkling wine, 18 Wherefrom they will get neither any aching of the head, nor any intoxication. 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and with the flesh of any fowl that they may desire to eat; 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 beautiful as pearls hidden in their shells. 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 (Naught) but the saying: Peace, (and again) Peace. 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and flowing water 31 And fruit in plenty, 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 on raised couches. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving companions matched in age, 37 For the Companions of the Right Hand. 38

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
