The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 some shall be abased and others exalted. 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 And the mountains shall be made to crumble with (an awful) crumbling, 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 On that day, you (mankind) will be divided into three groups: 7 (First) those on the right hand; what of those on the right hand? 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 And those Foremost (in Faith) will be Foremost (in the Hereafter). 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In gardens of tranquility; 12 A multitude of those (foremost) will be from the first generations (who embraced Islam). 13 And a few from among the latter. 14 Seated on couches wrought in gold and encrusted with precious stones, 15 they shall recline, facing each other, 16 immortal youths shall go about them 17 with goblets, and ewers, and a cup from a spring 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 And fruit of what they select 20 and the meat of any bird that they may desire; 21 And gorgeous eyed fair maidens. 22 like hidden pearls, 23 Reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 But only the saying of: Salam!, Salam! (greetings with peace)! 26 And the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 27 They will be in (the shade) of thornless lote 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 And water flowing constantly, 31 And fruit abundant. 32 Neither out of reach nor yet forbidden, 33 And [upon] beds raised high. 34 Surely We have made them to grow into a (new) growth, 35 and made them virgins, 36 Loving, equals in age, 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
