The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ When the forthcoming event does occur. 1 And there can be no denying of its befalling. 2 It will bring down [some] and raise up [others]. 3 When the earth shall be shaken with a (severe) shaking, 4 The mountains bruised and crushed, 5 So they will become like fine dust, scattered in a shaft of light. 6 And ye are classes three. 7 Then the companions of the right - what are the companions of the right? 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 And the forerunners, the forerunners - 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 in the Gardens of Delight, 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 and only a few of them from the later generations. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 reclining on them, arrayed face to face; 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 With cups, and jugs, and a glass from the flowing wine, 18 Unheady, uninebriating; 19 along with fruits of their choice; 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And pure, beautiful ones, 22 The likenesses of pearls well-protected, 23 As recompense for all they had done. 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 And those on the Right Hand, Who will be those on the Right Hand? 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 In shade long-extended, 30 By water flowing constantly, 31 and an abundance of fruits, 32 never-ending and unrestricted, 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Verily, We have created them (maidens) of special creation. 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For the companions of the right [who are] 38
