The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ When the Event (i.e. the Day of Resurrection) befalls. 1 there is no denying its coming 2 (a calamitous Event) that shall turn things upside down: 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 and become like scattered dust particles, 6 You will become three categories: 7 Those on the right hand; how happy shall those on the right hand be! 8 And the companions of the left - what are the companions of the left? 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 (The foremost ones) will be the nearest ones to God 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 a host of the ancients 13 and a few from later times. 14 on lavish couches 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There wait on them immortal youths 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 Whereby there shall be neither headiness nor will they be inebriated. 19 And such fruits as they fancy, 20 And with flesh of fowls from that which they desire. 21 And there will be fair ones large eyed. 22 like unto pearls [still] hidden in their shells. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 They will not hear therein any vain or sinful talk, 25 only the saying 'Peace, Peace!' 26 And those on the right – how (fortunate) are those on the right! 27 Midst lote-trees thornless. 28 and acacias flower-clad, 29 and amid the extended shade 30 and flowing water, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 never-ending and unforbidden. 33 And maidens incomparable. 34 Perfectly We formed them, perfect, 35 having resurrected them as virgins, 36 intensely loving and of matching age. 37 For those on the right. 38
