a large throng from the ancients, 39 and many from the later generations. 40 The Companions of the Left (O Companions of the Left!) 41 Amidst scorching wind and scalding water. 42 and a shade of thick, pitch-black smoke, 43 Neither cool nor agreeable. 44 Indeed they were among favours before this. 45 and they persisted obstinately in awful sin, 46 And they used to say: What! when we die and have become dust and bones, shall we then indeed be raised? 47 And also our forefathers?" 48 Say (O Muhammad SAW): "(Yes) verily, those of old, and those of later times. 49 shall all be brought together on an appointed Day. 50 Then you erring ones, you that cried lies, 51 "Ye will surely taste of the Tree of Zaqqum. 52 And shall fill therewith your bellies. 53 And shall be drinkers thereon of boiling water. 54 Lapping it up like female camels raging of thirst with disease." 55 This shall be their hospitality on the Day of Doom. 56 We have created you: why then do you not accept the truth? 57 So what is your opinion regarding the semen you discharge? 58 Do you yourselves create it, or are We the Creators? 59 We have decreed among you Death; We shall not be outstripped; 60 that We will change you and cause you to grow again in a way you do not know. 61 You have known the first creation, then why do you not reflect? 62 Have you considered the seeds you till? 63 Cause it ye to grow, or are We the Grower? 64 We could turn it, if We pleased, into straw; then you would rue the day, 65 Lo! we are laden with debt! 66 “In fact, we were unfortunate!” 67 Have you seen the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who cause it from the rainclouds to come down, or are We the Causer of it to come down? 69 [It comes down sweet - but] were it Our will, We could make it burningly salty and bitter: why, then, do you not give thanks [unto Us]? 70 Have you seen the fire which you kindle? 71 Have you raised its tree, or We have raised it? 72 We have made it a memorial (of Our handiwork), and an article of comfort and convenience for the denizens of deserts. 73 Then celebrate with praises the name of thy Lord, the Supreme! 74

How does the memorization exercise algorithm work? At the lowest level 0, all words are visible. While the highest level 9 hides all words. What about at mid-level, like 3, for example? You might think that the algorithm hides precisely 3 out of every nine words. Not quite! At level 3, each word has a 3 out of 9 chance to hide, and 6 out of 9 to be visible. In other words, it is possible, but highly unlikely, for all words at level 3 to be hidden, or, that all of them to be visible! Also, at mid-levels, and in proportion to the difficulty level, hideouts can be partially incomplete or transparent so that words may be partially visible underneath.
