Friday (Al-Jumu'ah)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
۞ Whatever is in the heavens and on earth, doth declare the Praises and Glory of Allah,- the Sovereign, the Holy One, the Exalted in Might, the Wise. 1 It is He who has raised among the illiterate (Arabs), a Messenger from themselves, to recite to them His verses, to purify them, and to teach them the Book and the Wisdom, though before that they were in clear error, 2 And others from among them who have not yet joined them; and He is the Mighty, the Wise. 3 That is the bounty of Allah, which He gives to whom He wills, and Allah is the possessor of great bounty. 4 The likeness of those who were charged with (the law of) the Torah which they did not observe, is that of a donkey who carries a load of books (oblivious of what they contain). How wretched the semblance of the people who deny the words of God! God does not show an unjust people the way. 5 Say: 'O you who are Jews, if you claim that of all people, you alone are the guided by Allah, then long for death if you are truthful' 6 But they will never wish for death because of what they had done in the past, and God knows the sinners well. 7 Say (to them): "Verily, the death from which you flee will surely meet you, then you will be sent back to (Allah), the All-Knower of the unseen and the seen, and He will tell you what you used to do." 8
