Kingship (Al-Mulk)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ Blessed be He in whose Hand is the Kingdom, He is powerful over all things, 1 The One Who created death and life to test you – who among you has the better deeds; and He only is the Most Honourable, the Oft Forgiving. 2 Who has created the seven heavens one above another, you can see no fault in the creations of the Most Beneficent. Then look again: "Can you see any rifts?" 3 Again turn thy vision a second time: (thy) vision will come back to thee dull and discomfited, in a state worn out. 4 And We have certainly beautified the nearest heaven with stars and have made [from] them what is thrown at the devils and have prepared for them the punishment of the Blaze. 5 And for those who disbelieve in their Lord there awaits the chastisement of Gehenna -- an evil homecoming! 6 When they are cast therein, they will hear the (terrible) drawing in of its breath as it blazes forth. 7 Almost bursting with fury: Every time a Group is cast therein, its Keepers will ask, "Did no Warner come to you?" 8 They will say, "Of course, a warner did come to us, but we belied him and we said, 'God has revealed nothing; you are in gross error.'" 9 They also say, 'If we had only heard, or had understood, we would not have been of the inhabitants of the Blaze.' 10 So it is that they confess their sins. Curse the inhabitants of the Blaze! 11 Surely those who fear their Lord in the Unseen -- there awaits them forgiveness and a great wage. 12 (Whether you) speak in secret or aloud, He knows the innermost of the chests. 13 Shall He not know, who created? And He is the All-subtle, the All-aware. 14
