Nay, by the Moon 32 And by the night when it withdraws, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 It is a warning for mankind 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 except those of the right hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 About the criminals, 41 “What took you into the hell?” 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 and we denied the Day of Judgement 46 "Until there came to us (the Hour) that is certain." 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What ails them, that they turn away from the Reminder, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 That had fled from a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No indeed; the truth is that they have no fear of the Hereafter. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 And what advice will they heed, except if Allah wills? Only He deserves to be feared, and His only is the greatness of forgiving. 56
