The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 - The piercing Star! 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 So let man consider of what he was created; 5 He has been created from an ejected drop of fluid 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Indeed Allah is Able to return him. 8 upon the day when the secrets are tried, 9 and he shall have no strength, no helper. 10 By the sky with its returning rain, 11 and by the earth bursting with vegetation; 12 Behold this is the Word that distinguishes (Good from Evil): 13 and is no idle tale. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and so am I: 16 So bear with unbelievers with patience, and give them respite for a while. 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
