The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)
9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Woe to every slanderer and backbiter 1 who amasses wealth and counts it over and again. 2 He thinks that his wealth will make him last forever! 3 Nay, but verily he will be flung to the Consuming One. 4 Would that you understood what that crushing torment is like. 5 It is the fire of Allah, [eternally] fueled, 6 Which penetrates the hearts 7 covered down upon them, 8 In extending columns. 9
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
