Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ The Indubitable! 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 The tribes of Thamud and A’ad denied the event of great dismay. (The Day of Resurrection) 4 As for Thamood, they were destroyed by the Screamer; 5 And as for A'ad, they were destroyed by a fierce roaring wind, 6 Which He made to prevail against them for seven nights and eight days unremittingly, so that you might have seen the people therein prostrate as if they were the trunks of hollow palms. 7 Can you see any of their survivors? 8 And Fir'aun (Pharaoh), and those before him, and the cities overthrown [the towns of the people of [Lout (Lot)] committed sin, 9 And they disobeyed the Apostle of their Lord, so He punished them with a vehement punishment. 10 But We bore you away in the Ark, when the waters rose high, 11 So that We may make it a reminder to you, and that the retaining ear might retain it. 12 Then when the Trumpet will be blown with one blowing (the first one), 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be removed from their places, and crushed with a single crushing, 14 So that is the day when the forthcoming event will occur. 15 And the heaven will split asunder – so on that day it will be unstable. 16 and the angels will stand on the sides, with eight of them bearing aloft the Throne of your Lord on that Day. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 Then, he who is given his book in his right hand will say: 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Verily I was sure that I would be handed over my account.” 20 So he will be in a pleasant life - 21 in a high Garden, 22 With fruits hanging low within reach, 23 Such people will be told, "Eat and drink with pleasure as the reward for what you did in the past". 24 And he that will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "Ah! Would that my Record had not been given to me! 25 "And that I had never known, how my Account is? 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 “My wealth did not in the least benefit me.” 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 Lay hold of him and chain him; 30 “Then hurl him into the blazing fire.” 31 then in a chain of seventy cubits' length insert him! 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 nor were they concerned with feeding the destitute. 34 Today he has been left here friendless; 35 Nor any food save filthy corruption. 36 None shall eat it but the sinners. 37
