Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
52 verses, revealed in Mecca after Kingship (Al-Mulk) before The Heights (Al-Ma'aarej)
In the name of Allah, the Entirely Merciful, the Especially Merciful
۞ THE CONCRETE REALITY. 1 What is the Sure Reality? 2 And what would make you realize what the sure calamity is! 3 The people of Thamud and Ad denied the Day of Judgment. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 and the 'Ad were destroyed by a furious wind 6 which He let loose upon them for seven nights and eight days in succession; so that (if you had been there) you might have seen people lying prostrate, as though they were uprooted trunks of hollowed palm trees. 7 Then seest thou any of them left surviving? 8 Then came the Pharaoh, and those before him whose habitations were overthrown while they were committing crimes. 9 And they disobeyed their Lord's Messenger, so He punished them with a strong punishment. 10 Surely We bore you up in the ship when the water rose high, 11 as a lesson for you, but only attentive ears will retain it. 12 And when the trumpet shall sound one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains are lifted and leveled with one blow - 14 On that day shall the great event come to pass, 15 and heaven shall be split, for upon that day it shall be very frail, 16 And the angels will be on the sides thereof, and eight will uphold the Throne of thy Lord that day, above them. 17 On that day all your secrets will be exposed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 "Surely, I did believe that I shall meet my Account!" 20 He is therefore in the desired serenity. 21 in a lofty Garden 22 with its fruits within easy reach. 23 We shall say to him, "Eat and drink joyfully as a reward for the good deeds you did in days gone by." 24 But whosoever gets his ledger in his left hand, will say: "Would that I were never given my ledger, 25 And knew not what my reckoning! 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth has availed me nothing: 28 [and] all my power of argument has died away from me!" 29 'Take him, and fetter him, 30 Then cast him into the burning fire, 31 Then thrust him into a chain the length of which is seventy cubits. 32 Lo! He used not to believe in Allah the Tremendous, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 Today he shall have no loyal friend here, 35 Nor any food except filth from the washing of wounds, 36 None will eat it except the sinners. 37
