Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his people telling him, "Warn your people before a painful torment approaches them". 1 He said: 'My nation, I am a clear warner for you. 2 Worship Allah, and fear Him, and obey me. 3 "He (Allah) will forgive you of your sins and respite you to an appointed term. Verily, the term of Allah when it comes, cannot be delayed, if you but knew." 4 He said: “My Lord, I called my people by night and by day, 5 "But all my calling added nothing but to (their) flight (from the truth). 6 “And whenever I called them, so that You may forgive them, they always thrust their fingers into their ears, and covered themselves with their clothes, and remained stubborn and were extremely haughty.” 7 "And behold I called unto them openly; 8 Then surely I spoke to them in public and I spoke to them in secret: 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send you abundant 11 and give to you wealth and sons, and provide you with gardens and rivers. 12 "'What is the matter with you, that ye place not your hope for kindness and long-suffering in Allah,- 13 And indeed He has created you through various grades: 14 "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 And hath made the moon a light therein, and made the sun a lamp? 16 Allah has caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 He will then return you back to it, and bring you out again. 18 And Allah has made for you the earth an expanse 19 That of it ye may traverse the ways open. 20
