Jinns (Al-Jinn)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ SAY: "It has been revealed to me that some of the unseen beings gave ear [to this divine writ,] and thereupon said [unto their fellow-beings]: "'Verily, we have heard a wondrous discourse, 1 'It guides to the Right Path, and we have believed therein, and we shall never join (in worship) anything with our Lord (Allah). 2 And (we believe) that He - exalted be the glory of our Lord! - hath taken neither wife nor son, 3 And the foolish among us were wont to forge lies against Allah exceedingly. 4 'And verily, we thought that men and jinns would not utter a lie against Allah. 5 'And verily, there were men among mankind who took shelter with the masculine among the jinns, but they (jinns) increased them (mankind) in sin and disbelief. 6 and that “they thought, even as you thought, that Allah would never raise anyone (as a Messenger)”; 7 'And we pried into the secrets of heaven; but we found it filled with stern guards and flaming fires. 8 ‘And that we sometimes used to sit in some places in the sky, to listen; so whoever now listens finds a fiery comet waiting for him.’ 9 'And we know not whether evil is intended for those on earth, or whether their Lord intends for them a Right Path. 10 And among us are the righteous, and among us are [others] not so; we were [of] divided ways. 11 Indeed, we thought that we should never be able to frustrate God in the earth, neither be able to frustrate Him by flight. 12 And when we heard the Message of guidance, we believed therein; and whosoever believeth in his Lord, he shall fear neither diminution nor wrong. 13 And among us are Muslims [in submission to Allah], and among us are the unjust. And whoever has become Muslim - those have sought out the right course. 14 And as to the deviators, they are fuel of hell: 15 (Say): "If they keep to the right path We shall give them water in abundance to drink 16 so as to test them by this means: for he who shall turn away from the remembrance of his Sustainer, him will He cause to undergo suffering most grievous. 17 And [He revealed] that the masjids are for Allah, so do not invoke with Allah anyone. 18 When the worshiper of Allah stood supplicating to Him, they swarmed around him (Prophet Muhammad). 19
