The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
O you who are clothed! 1 arise and warn, 2 And your Lord do magnify, 3 And keep your clothes clean. 4 And stay away from idols. 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 And for the good-will of thy Lord be thou patient. 7 So when the Trumpet will be blown. 8 That Day will be a difficult day 9 Far from easy for the disbelievers. 10 Leave Me with the one I created alone 11 To whom I granted resources in abundance, 12 and children living in his presence, 13 and for whom I have smoothed the way (to power and riches), 14 And yet he desires that I should add more! 15 Not at all! Surely, he has been disobedient to Our verses. 16 Soon will I visit him with a mount of calamities! 17 For he had thought and calculated. 18 And woe to him! How he plotted!- 19 Again, ruin seize him, how did he hatch a scheme? 20 Then he considered [again]; 21 Then frowned and grimaced. 22 and he turned his back and behaved arrogantly 23 And said, "This is not but magic imitated [from others]. 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will cast him into hell. 26 And what will make you know exactly what Hell-fire is? 27 It neither spares, nor releases, 28 It shrivelleth the man. 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have appointed only angels to be masters of the Fire, and their number We have appointed only as a trial for the unbelievers, that those who were given the Book may have certainty, and that those who believe may increase in belief, and that those who were given the Book and those who believe may not be in-doubt, and that those in whose hearts there is sickness, and the unbelievers, may say, 'What did God intend by this as a similitude?' So God leads astray whomsoever He will, and He guides whomsoever He will; and none knows the hosts of thy Lord but He. And it is naught but a Reminder to mortals. 31
