Nay, and by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And the daybreak when it shines; 34 That (Hell) is surely one of the greater (signs), 35 a warning to humans, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 and we plunged along with the plungers, 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until death approached us". 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were alarmed donkeys 50 Fleeing away from a lion. 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whosoever will (let him read it), and receive admonition (from it)! 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
