Al-Muddath-thir 2 of 2
Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 And by oath of the night when it turns back. 33 and the morn when it dawns! 34 Indeed, the Fire is of the greatest [afflictions] 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To any of you that chooses to press forward, or to follow behind;- 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 Except the Companions of the Right Hand. 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 What has brought you into hell? 42 They will reply, "We did not pray, 43 "Nor used to feed the needy." 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 "Till death overcame us." 47 So no intercession will avail them. 48 Then what is the matter with them that they turn away from admonition?- 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 fleeing before a lion? 51 Nay; every one of them desires that he may be given pages spread out; 52 No! They do not fear the Hereafter -- 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 they will only take heed if God so wills: He is the Lord who is worthy to be feared: the Lord of forgiveness. 56
