No, by the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 and the morning when it appears, 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 A warning unto humankind 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul, for what it has earned, will be retained 38 Except those on the Right, (i.e. the pious true believers of Islamic Monotheism); 39 who will be in Paradise 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: "We were not of those who used to offer their Salat (prayers) 43 and we did not feed the poor; 44 we indulged in vain arguments along with those who indulged in them; 45 And we used to deny the Day of Recompense 46 until the inevitable event overtook us.” 47 The mediation of no mediators will avail them then. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were asses taking fright 50 fleeing from a lion? 51 In fact every one of them wants to be given open books (like the prophets). 52 Nay, verily. They fear not the Hereafter. 53 No! Indeed, the Qur'an is a reminder 54 Let him who will take heed: 55 But none will remember, unless Allah wills, He is the Owner of fear, the Owner of forgiveness. 56
