By no means! By the moon, 32 And the night when it departs, 33 And the dawn when it shineth forth, 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To whoever wills among you to proceed or stay behind. 37 Every person is a pledge for what he has earned, 38 Except the companions of the right, 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 From the guilty. 41 [And asking them], "What put you into Saqar?" 42 They will answer: "We did not fulfil our devotional obligations, 43 "Nor we used to feed Al-Miskin (the poor); 44 And we have been wading with the waders. 45 and belied the Day of Recompense 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 Then the intercession of the intercessors shall not profit them. 48 Why now turn they away from the Admonishment, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Rather each one of them desires that he should be given open Books. 52 By no means! Aye, they fear not the Hereafter. 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But they [who do not believe in the life to come] will not take it to heart unless God so wills: [for] He is the Fount of all God-consciousness, and the Fount of all forgiveness. 56
