No, by the moon! 32 and the night when it retreats 33 By the dawn when it lightens! 34 surely it is one of the greatest things 35 A warning for people -- 36 a warning to everyone of you whether he would like to come forward or lag behind. 37 Each soul is held in pledge for what it earns, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens, they seek answers, 40 Concerning the guilty: 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 “Nor used to feed the needy.” 44 and we were wont to indulge in sinning together with all [the others] who indulged in it; 45 And we have been belying the Day of Requital. 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So the intercession of intercessors shall not avail them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were frightened (wild) donkeys. 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Rather, every person among them desires that he would be given scriptures spread about. 52 No! But they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 No indeed; surely it is a Reminder; 54 So whoever wills may heed advice from it. 55 And they will not heed unless Allah willeth (it). He is the fount of fear. He is the fount of Mercy. 56
