Nay; I swear by the moon, 32 By the night when it withdraweth. 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 This is but one of the mighty (portents), 35 As a warning unto men, 36 For the one among you who wishes to come forward or stay back. 37 Every soul will be (held) in pledge for its deeds. 38 save those who shall have attained to righteousness: 39 In Gardens; they shall be asking, 40 and will ask of the criminals, 41 'What caused you to be thrust into the Scorching (Fire)' 42 and they shall reply, "We were not among those who prayed; 43 Nor did we feed the wretched. 44 We plunged in with the plungers 45 and the Day of Judgment we were wont to call a lie 46 until certainty came upon us [in death]." 47 The intercession of the intercessors will be of no benefit to them. 48 If such will be the Day of Judgment, what is the matter with them? Why do they run away from guidance, 49 As if they were startled donkeys – 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, everyone of them desires that he should be given pages spread out (coming from Allah with a writing that Islam is the right religion, and Muhammad SAW has come with the truth from Allah the Lord of the heavens and earth, etc.). 52 Nay! But they fear not the Hereafter (from Allah's punishment). 53 Nay; this is an Exhortation. 54 and whoever wills may take it to heart. 55 And they will not remember, except that God wills; He is worthy to be feared, -- worthy to forgive. 56
