By the moon, 32 And [by] the night when it departs 33 by the brightening dawn, 34 Verily, that [hell-fire] is Indeed one of the great [forewarnings] 35 As a warning to humanity - 36 To him among you who wishes to go forward or remain behind. 37 Each one is a hostage to one's deeds, 38 Except those on the right side. 39 In Gardens they will question 40 From the guilty. 41 "What has brought you into the Fire of Hell ?" 42 They will say: "We were not of those who prayed; 43 nor did we feed the destitute. 44 We indulged and persisted in useless disputes, 45 “And used to deny the Day of Justice.” 46 Until there came to us the certainty." 47 Then there will not profit them intercesion of the interceders. 48 Why then do they turn away from the admonition 49 as though they were terrified asses 50 Fleeing from a lion! 51 Forsooth, each one of them wants to be given scrolls (of revelation) spread out! 52 No, indeed they have no fear of the Everlasting Life. 53 Nay, this surely is an admonition: 54 So, whoever wills may benefit from it. 55 But none will keep it in remembrance except as Allah wills: He is the Lord of Righteousness, and the Lord of Forgiveness. 56
