Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and nay, I swear by the self-reproaching soul! 2 Does man think that We will not assemble his bones? 3 Yes. [We are] Able [even] to proportion his fingertips. 4 Nay! man desires to give the lie to what is before him. 5 he asks, "When is this Day of Resurrection to be?" 6 When, then, the sight shall be confounded. 7 And the moon is buried in darkness. 8 And the sun and the moon shall be joined. 9 That day man will say: "Where can I find escape?" 10 No indeed; not a refuge! 11 unto thy Lord that Day is the recourse. 12 On that Day the human shall be informed of his former and latter deeds. 13 He shall be a clear proof against himself, 14 even though he offer his excuses. 15 Move not thy tongue with it to hasten it; 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 Therefore when We have recited it, follow its recitation. 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 Nay! But you love the present life, 20 and leave be the Hereafter. 21 Some faces that Day shall be Nadirah (shining and radiant). 22 Waiting for their Lord. 23 And some faces, that Day, will be Basirah (dark, gloomy, frowning, and sad), 24 dreading some great affliction. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 and the angels say, "Who will take away his soul, 27 And he will realise that this is the parting. 28 When legs are twisted around each other, 29 upon that Day the driving shall be to your Lord. 30
