Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ No! I swear by the Day of Resurrection, 1 Nay, I swear by the accusing soul (that this Scripture is true). 2 What, does man reckon We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea! We are able to make complete his very fingertips 4 But man wishes to do wrong (even) in the time in front of him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 And the sun and moon are joined together,- 9 on that Day the human will ask: 'To (which place) shall I flee' 10 But there is nowhere to take refuge: 11 On that day, the station is only towards your Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 In fact, people are well-aware of their own soul 14 even though he may veil himself in excuses. 15 O dear Prophet (Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him), do not cause your tongue to move along with the Qur’an in order to learn it faster. 16 Surely its collection and recitation are Our responsibility. 17 And so when We recite it, follow its recitation attentively; 18 We shall be responsible for its explanation. 19 No indeed; but you love the hasty world, 20 and neglect the life to come. 21 That day will faces be resplendent, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be overcast with despair, 24 Expecting that there will be done to them [something] backbreaking. 25 Nay; when a man's soul reaches up to the throat, 26 And it is said, "Who will cure [him]?" 27 the while he [himself] knows that this is the parting, 28 And affliction is combined with affliction; 29 on that Day he will be driven towards your Lord! 30
